What is the best straightener for my hair?

I have very fine hairs, but there are A LOT of them. My hair is curly, frizzy and gets broken ends. I usually have to use GOBS of styling products to get my hair to work. I really want to straighten it but I don't want a relaxer so that I can still scrunch it if I don't have time to straighten Oh yeah, I'm on a budget so under $100 please? I want to be able to put it in a ponytail and take the ponytail out and have it still be straight! I'm an athlete so that is really important to me.

Also, any hair heat protection serums or hair-holding mousses or gels for straightened hair you can recommend would be helpful.

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

Umm...you can try the Remington Wet 2 Straight. I've had it for about 3 months and it works really well.

I agree with the previous poster. I have an ion. They cost about $90 at Sally Beauty Supply. My hair is not fried at all. As for a serum try Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum or Redken Heatglide.
