Solution to dry hair?

I have very dry hair, i hadn't ever gotten it cut since 19 years and day before i did. So its all wavy and messed up and very very dry.

The hair salon people asked me to shampoo my hair everyday, condition it and apply serum after that gel if needed. I wanted to know if :-

a) Gel is good for hair?

b) how can i fix my dry hair condition?

c) what can i do for better silkier hair?

A) No.

B) Cut your hair, use a lot of rehydrating products, wash your hair more, and get some leave-in conditioner

C) Same, and expensive shampoo's. Use some products on your hair that smooth it and don't blow-dry it, it dries it out. Just let it drip dry.

I dont think you should put gells or anything in your hair.. well you do have to put something. I think that you should just use hydrating hair products that are healthy AND work.

Have you not had your hair cut for 19 years?

If so, your solution here is easy: Go to the hairdressers. Have a hair cut, a professional treatment put into it, and buy some good products for your type of hair (depending on the color, lenght and type of dryness etc.)

For silky hair I personally use a conditioner with tsubaki oil.

Conditioner. Try different kinds since some kinds work better for some people. I know Pantine Pro V is a good one. The one that says 75% smoother hair.

I would try Pantene Shampoo and conditioner which comes in various types. There is one that is specifically for dry hair. You should try it and see if you like it.

Gel is not good for dry hair, they make it worse... trying using natural oil, like olive or aloe vera instead for hair styling...

Washing hair daily is good... but make sure you use the right shampoo and conditioner... best to use those for very dry hair...

Go for hair treatment at least once a month until your hair is back to normal... But do not expose your hair to high temperature, otherwise, it will fizzles...

When you wash ur hair your shampoo should only take out the dirt not dry your scalp witch is what alchohol does. Look at the ingredients when you buy ur shampoo, if theres alcohal then stay away. After that you may want to try a leave in conditioner. I dont know much about hair but I know forsure not to wash with shampoo that has and kinda "hol" in it.

a. Gel makes your hair very sticky so i would not recomend gel.

b. There are special shampoos that give you silkie hair and no dry hair.

Get a nice deep condition treatment, its specially for dried hair, like you've explained, honestly, it works wonderfully. Thats for part B. Part A - Gel, theres no such as good or bad about it, it just makes it hold longer, so when you wash your hair, it just comes out again, so it's temporary. For silkier hair, i recommend you to try sunsilk shampoo and conditioner, it makes your hair soft and silky. Buy a pair of straightners to straighten it, Make sure you use heat protector to stop damage, And try and get your hair trimmed aswel, because 19 years is a very long time to leave it uncutted and that what causes to dry more, Them dry bits are your split ends, likely, So them suggestions i recommend you should try. a) no gel isn good for hair but its better then hair spray!

b)there are alot of hair products that are made just for that...look around or go to a hair care center and ask the people who work there ......im sure they will point somthing out for you.

|Your not supposed to wash it everyday because the shampoo takes all the moisture, so wash every other day and use hot oils. You can just buy them from the stores and they work great. Also on like a day your not doing anything. Use almost a whole bottle of conditioner and oils on your hair and out like a grocery bag over your head and soak it for hours, you'll be soon having luscious hair again, and it all works.

if you just trim your hair... it fixes dryness sometimes, and even just the healthyness of your hair too. i always thought gel was just for hairdos so they dont fall apart... but idk...and pantene pro v is good for silkiness....thats what i use

gel drys more the hair try sunsilk anti sponge is very good for your hair it leaves it nice and soft that's the shampoo the conditioner is de frizze with aloe then they have another one when your hair in dry or wet you apply it for frizz and the dryness I have the same problem and this stuff works great for this type of hair it leaves it nice and silky trust me you should trim the ends and then apply this product you will love it good luck

A.)Gel has alcohol which is drying to hair.

B.) Wax or mud by "Sebastian" are the best styling products to weigh down wavy hair, you use very little so they last forever, and will add moisture to your hair. If you can afford it, "Redken Moisture or All soft( has almond oil)", is wonderful to shampoo and condition. You can's fix a dry hair condition but you can treat it.

C.)Bio silk is the serum you should use. I am so sorry this happened to you. I've done hair for thirteen years and most of my clients went through this and found me thru word of mouth to fix these kind of things for them, so I do know what I'm talking about. Good Luck and God Bless!
