Question on hair scrunching?

okay i have two questions about hair scrunching.

alright, i know how to scrunch my hair and everything, but when i get outta the shower, i towel dry my hair, and let it air dry for a bit, and then i flip my hair over and use a lot of gel to scrunch my hair. but my hair doesn't get that hard crispy type like i see a lot of the other girls have. it just goes flat, and looks like really crappy lame waves. does it do that because my hairs too long? [my hair is about 6-7 inches below my shoulders] or is it cause my hair is still too damp or what?

and my other question that i really wanna know, is one of my friends scrunches her hair at night, and then the next day, she has soft dry waves. and idk how she gets that! so does anyone know how i can get my hair like that? having soft dry waves? thanks!

Question on hair scrunching?

Ok first with the scrunching, I have long hair and it doesn't matter if my hair's wet or damp it still works. What I do: Use spary gel, scrunch with fingers while your 'flipped upside down' (ya know what I mean?), then I spray with HAIR SPRAY and put it in a MESSY BUN so it has time to dry in the scrunched style. Those are the two key things that I highly recommend trying. :)

For the loose waves; try leting your hair get damp and then then putting in a LOOSE messy bun; maybe try showering before bed and then sleeping with it in a bun. That's what I do? :)

Hope all this helps! try it it really works for me! Good Luck :)

Question on hair scrunching?

my hair used to be like that...the only thing i could do was lightly curl it overnight....my problem was that my hair is really thick so i think gravity made it not cooperative...im jealous of those with scrunchable hair...

Question on hair scrunching?

you might want to consider buying mousse or another curling product besides gel. and use hairspray. (:

Question on hair scrunching?

well it might not work if ur hair is naturally straight

and idk about ur friend, im not sure how she gets that, why dont u ask her?

Question on hair scrunching?

Your hair might be to long or maybe the gel you are using may not be strong enough. I would recommend getting layers so it it easier for your hair to curl. Good luck and happy Styling ;)

Question on hair scrunching?

you should try mousse or a lite leave-in conditioner by lite i mean one that does not weigh your hair down. That is how i get my hair to scrunch

Question on hair scrunching?

works sgreat on naturally curly hair

Question on hair scrunching?

ya its because ur hair is too long..unless u use way more gel..the way she getts the soft waves is...first wash ur hair...towel dry it..put mousse in it...scrunch it...put a clip on it and sleep with it..in the morning u'll hav soft waves

Question on hair scrunching?

i have never heard of scrunching gel? what all the people i know use is the spray. its that aussie sprunch spray stuff, and its in a purple bottle. it makes your hair look hard if you use alot of that, and scrunch it. i am not sure about that overnight thing. that does sound more like a gel. have you tried to do it before? all i can say is experiment (not on a school day!) hope this helps!

Question on hair scrunching?

well to get the hard crispy type you just do what you're doing, get out of the shower and towel dry but while it's still wet take some mousse (i use herbal essences totally twisted) then right when you see it's curling take hairspray and LOAD it in lol, it wont go poofy that way and you'll get it looking totally crispy and hard :)

Question on hair scrunching?

When you get out of the shower, put a quarter size amount of serum in your hair like Biosilk. Wrap your hair up in a towel for about 20 minutes. Get some Herbal Essence mousse and put an even amount on throughout your hair. Not too much, but enough. Start scrunching your hair with your hands from the ends up. Use a blow dryer on low setting to dry it a bit. I do it to my hair all the time and always get complements on it. If you want to control your hair from getting frizzy, you can put some gel in your hair before the mousse. Good luck!

Question on hair scrunching?

just always tream that in to naice haircut and always take a bath to refresh and clean your hair.

Question on hair scrunching?

Though I don't know how much curl your hair has naturally, I'd say that whether you want the "crispy" look or the soft look, you should do the same gel "scrunching" procedure while your hair is still more wet. It'll have the most moisture in it at this point (duh) and will probably be at its curliest if it isn't really curly naturally. Scrunch thoroughly while your hair is still dripping (do this in the shower, ideally,) then towel dry your hair with a similar scrunching, blotting sort of motion. If you want it to hold the waves better then scrunch in some more gel after you've dried it more. Once it's dry, it should be quite "crispy," and if you want the softer look, simply tilt your head over and scrunch it again to break the gel. If your hair has any natural wave to it, (which it really should if you're trying to make it wavy- if it doesn't then this won't work,) it should have softer, dry waves. DON'T do the final scrunch until your hair is totally dry, though, or your hair will frizz.

If you want your hair to curl more, do cut it shorter. If you have split ends, getting rid of them will DEFINITELY help it, too. Healthy hair usually has more texture.
