Grow it out long, and, like the person above me said, blow dry. Haha, your little avatar thing looks nothing like your pics. =] Anyway, if all else fails, go to a salon (er, a barber shop I guess since you're a dude) and show them the pics of the style you want and they can do it. get a layered choppy cut and a blow dryer. it also looks like he used some straight serum. Bumble and bumble makes a really good one. it will help keep your hair straight with any moisture in the air it will also give you that shine
