Curly hair???????????/?

i have naturally curly hair but it is frizzy and dry. what can i use to make it look good? .like mousse or gel or what? and also does gel dry hair out? thanks so much!

Curly hair???????????/?

i have naturally curly hair--really curly--so i understand. i also have little money to spend on expensive salon products. i've tried lots of stuff including the expensive stuff (which isn't so great), frizz-ease, and almost anything labeled for curly hair. after all of that, i've been on the same regimen for several years now. here's what i do:

use a hairbrush for curly hair and/or a wide toothed comb. brush out tangles before getting into the shower. shampoo with a rich shampoo. i use aussie moist. it's really good and inexpensive. under $6 for 32oz that lasts me and my long-haired fiance over 6 months. (i've also used aussie mega which is good too.) daily, use aussie 3-minute miracle. i leave it in until i'm ready to get out of the shower. comb it through to nourish each and every hair. although rich shampoos are better, you can get away with lots of shampoos, but a good conditioner is imperative!

squeeze out excess water with your hand and with your towel. absolutely do not towel dry by rubbing your hair with the towel! let the hairs cling together after combing through your styling product and scrunching for your natural curls to take shape. air dry. blow drying is scary for curly hair! (if you must blow dry, invest in a diffuser. have a stylist show you how to use it most effectively.)

the BEST styling product is nexxus versastyler "designing lotion." it's actually clear and thin and alcohol free. absolutely kills frizz. i just pour a little in the palm of my hand, rub my hands together, and smooth it through my hair. comb through for even distribution and scrunch. this stuff doesn't make hair crunchy or flakey or oily like other products. if i actually use too much and my hair does feel a little stiff when it dries, i just scrunch the curls and it's immediately soft. (it reactivates with water so if i don't want to wash my hair in the morning or if the day has been extra rough to my hair, i can just spritz on water and scrunch and it's lovely again.) about $11 at the salons, this bottle will last a looooong time--nearly a year even if your hair is long.

on a side note, this product is great for all hair types. makes hair do exactly what you want it to. we used it in my best friend's fine, straight, limp hair that would never hold a curl. well for the first time, it actually curled and stayed that way for three days!

be sure to get a good hair cut for curly hair. you need layers or you will have that hair-tent look. tell your stylist this, and if your stylist gets it wrong (like they so often do with curly hair), make them fix it for free. you usually won't know until the next day. any good stylist will do this; it's their job to give you what you've paid for. curly hair is weaker than straight, so it breaks a lot. this causes more tangles and more breakage. trim regularly to make your life easier and your hair lovely. i learned this the hard way!

i know this is a long answer, but i understand your pain and want to help. my mixed parentage gave me curly hair but no one to tell me how to work with it. i've had a few decades for figure it out, and i'm proud to say that my hair has gone from frizzy and tangled to commercial worthy. i hope my experience can help you, too!

Follow these steps:

1.Wash your hair with a shampoo that de-frizzes your hair and enhances your curls .I prefer using TIGI Catwalk Shampoo .It helps me detangle my curls and de-frizzes my hair.

2.Use a nourishing conditioner like Sunsilk Smooth and Soft Conditioner .Its affordable .The conditioner has to be cream-formulated and has to make your hair nourished not dried-up.

3.Remember to squeeze out excess water after rinsing the conditioner not rub your hair together .It created a lot of frizz .So remember to do this step.

4.Let it to dry naturally. Avoid styling equipments like the straightening iron and promades and thick gels.

5.If you want you can apply TIGI Curls Rock Serum. It really helps to enhance my curls. If you can閳ユ獩 find that product I advise you to use a serum specially made for curly hair that contains silicone that makes your hair soft.

I hope these steps work for use. All the best!!!

Curly hair is prone to dryness therefore you should use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. After washing your hair and towel drying it, apply 4 to 6 drops of silicone-based shine serum and then detangle your hair with your fingers. Allow to air dry.

- Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser (reduces frizz in curly/wavy hair when used with dryer), and a microfiber hair turban (to dry wet hair while sleeping or in the morning).

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Most shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent (aka sulfates). They dry out curly hair. Also you shouldn't brush your curly hair dry because it damages the hair and makes it poof.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. It will clean everything but super clingy silicones (read more about this at one of the websites) . Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

- Use a moisturizing conditioner, such as Aussie Moist Conditioner. The combo of products that I use daily is Garnier Fuctis Sleek and Shine Leave In Cream, Tressemme Clean Hold Gel, and Aussie Tizz No Frizz Gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites. Gel specifically does not dry out hair, but a really bad brand could.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!
