Are there any products I can use for my natural hair besides Proclaim Aloe Gel? I need something that's going to hold my naps in place. The Gel gets a little bothersome after awhile.
Black Natural Hair??
My mother uses Ion shaping gel. It's alcohol free, too, unlike Proclaim.
If that doesn't work, try one of these. I know some girls who are all natural, and they use them:
Suave Professionals Control Gel Firm
Long Aid Regular Curl Activator Gel with Aloe Vera
I personally use Fruit of the Earth. It's 100% Aloe Vera. You can get it practically anywhere, at Wal-Mart it's only $1, and a little goes a long way.

are you trying to put it in a pony tail? Try glaze or Jam..they both work well and are a lot easier on the head than the pro styl gel.

EITHER YOU RELAX YOUR HAIR OR YOU USE JAM INSTEAD OF JEL, U CAN ALSO TRY BLOW DRYING IT BEFORE STYLING , ADD A LITTLE MOISTURIZER AND COMB IT. THEN U R GOOD TO GO!

Black Natural Hair??
I don't know. My hair is gelled and spritzed down right now, and I'm ready to wash it out. I feel like I'm wearing a bowl on my head!

There are botanical Shampoos and Conditioners as well frizz reducers that have helped me a lot they can be pretty pricey now that I've reached the point where I can go from wet to out the door in a matter of about three hours I feel like it was a smart idea. I like Mizani Sha/Con and other products from Mario Tricocci.

I have not permed my hair since December 2005, believe it or not! And I just use the Hair Gel and tie it down at night time while I am sleeping but it all depends on what style you are trying to achieve. If you want more naturals style, get some hair moisturizer, pink oil is really greasy so try a lighter moisturizer like Soft n' Beautiful (their moisturizers are great). If you want to blend your hair with weave hair gel is really your only way to go. You can also texturize your hair, it brings out the best qualities in your hair. If you have nappy hair, it will turn those naps into curls. Just make sure you follow the instructions if that is what you chose.

miss jessie's curly pudding is an option. i haven't used it yet because half of my hair is still relaxed. i had my last relaxer in 2005. i use stuff from frizzoff.com right now. next i'm going to try the curling custard from here - http://kinky-curly.com/. i've been experimenting with different products ever since i started wearing my hair natural. i use stuff from curls.biz too.
