What is the easiest and fastest way to curl straight long thick hair?

see i have long hair and i can`t curl my hair with a curling iron. it takes too much of my time (about 1 1/2 to 2 hours). i tried scrunching my hair with gel and mousse but it just seems to weigh my hair down and it doesn`t last long enough.

go to wal mart and buy these curlers and what you do is put them in when your hair is wet and then either go to sleep or dry it with a dryer and when you wake up your hair will be dry and curly. but dont take the curlers out as soon as your done drying it. you have to let your hair cool down first. use the cool down on the dryer or sit in front of a fan. it sounds like a lot of work but its not. my daughter does this all the time. her hair is curly when shes done and it stays until she washes it again.

ok well you can get a curl activating cream or if your hair is that thick then i would get it layered because it takes the heavy feeling out of your hair

I have the exact same problem! lol, try and blow-dry your hair with your head upside down... I know it sounds stupid but it work's, it makes your hair lighter so that you can easily keep the culr, make sure to use the proper type of gel, sometimes you may need to use a more expensive-lighter-brand. They will give it more lift in gaining curl... lol, hope this helps you. ^_^

try spraying your hair down with a product that works on dry hair like biolage. then put in your hot rollers and it should work I'm a hairstylist as well

buy some curlers or try to curl it when the hair is dirty. It helps hold the curl better. Curlers are really going to take just as much time as a curling iron by the time you get the hair to dry and if it is long it will take forever to get the middle to dry. Basically patience and a curling iron. SORRY!!!

I have the same problem! My hair isn't that long, but it's thick, layered which makes it all the harder to curl, and it takes me about that long to curl it with a curling iron. Try using these rollers from sally's beauty supply store. You put them in your hair when its damp and sleep on it and when you wake up and take them out, your hair will be curled prettily. Or hot rollers work to. Just make sure to use good products...gels, mousses, anything that helps bring out the curl in your hair. Hope I helped and good luck!
