Question about hair fashion?

Male here, 23, trying to grow my hair long. But it seems like I have wavy hair (especially on the sides and back), which was not noticeable when I had short hair (all my life). So my side just SHootS OUT in strings of hair, and looks terrible. If I shampoo my hair everyday, it doesn't help. If I don't shampoo it for 2 days, it still doesn't help (actually gets a bit worse, as my hair's softer when I shampoo).

My Question: how the hell do I make it stay down WITHOUT USING GEL or hair spray or any of that stuff? Is there a special shampoo? Are there special... umm... male hair clips that are really small and can hold the hair down? Eventually I'm hoping it'll grow long enough for it to stay down.

Thanks

Get a shag and use a combination of water-based pomade and hair gel. Or else, shave it off.

You don;t. Without using products, if simple blow drying it straight doesn't help you won;t be able to do much.

There are alot of hair products made just for men. Other than going to the store and testing out a few things to see what works with your hair you should just buy a hat ;) :)

Your hair has hit the famous "inbetween stage". There are no tricks. You can try tying it back into a tail. but realistically, there are great gells for men that tame your hair without being noticable. Sneak into a good beauty supply store and tell them your problem There are some great things to put in your hair while wet that help control it when dry. These are not noticable. just accept the need and be a guy with great hair.

Have you heard EMO hair style????

Question about hair fashion?

Well guy, sorry, but you HAVE to put something in your hair to give it some weight to hold it down. Just the facts of life er...hair! Since you don't like gel, I'm assuming it's the stiff feel that you don't like. So you might want to try using a smoothing gel. It isn't at all like a regular gel. It gives your hair some "slip" and keeps the waves contained so they don't go springing all over the place. Another suggestion would be to use a Leave-In Conditioner. Nioxin makes one for course/wavy hair called Silk Elixir. Actually, we LOVE Silk Elixir mixed in with Nioxin's Pure Shine Gel (it's a smoothing type gel...not hard and sticky at all!) Another thing you'll want to use would be a Hydrating or Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner. Wavy hair needs moisture and if you want to get any length at all on it you've got to keep it moisturized and in good shape. You can't get by with the cheapy stuff like you can when it's short. Good luck in your endeavor, and sorry to break the news to you! It's kinda like trying to brush your teeth without toothpaste. You gotta have "stuff".
